Every Q-code operates as a dual-purpose shorthand. Sending QTH? asks "What is your location?". Sending QTH DALLAS answers "My location is Dallas". Never omit the question mark when inquiring!

QRM vs. QRN Distinction

A common beginner error is confusing QRM and QRN. Remember: M in QRM stands for Man-made (other transmitters, power line buzzers). N in QRN stands for Natural / Noise (lightning static).
